collaboration and communication tools

Hye....

COLLABORATION TOOLS & COMMUNICATION TOOLS

Collaboration is the new normal in the workplace. No longer are employees expected to work cut off from one another, but instead are needed to work more closely together. Collaboration means improved efficiency and increased productivity, but only if you have the right tools for collaboration in the first place.
These should be expected to be based on a platform for communications, accessible not just from a desktop computer but also mobile devices, such as cell phones. This way all employees can keep in contact all the time. But communications isn't enough with good organization to allow different people to better understand others in their departments, and also those in other departments.
Even better, deadlines, task managements, and support should all be built into communications. Above all, everything should be clear, easy to understand, simply to use and reduce misunderstanding. Every employee should be empowered to be able to speak to the right person, wherever they are in the company, to address the same problem. And then solve that problem within an acceptable workflow.

The days of collaborative working are here, when a business can truly become a team of employees-all all of them unique individuals with their own strengths, that you can bring together for a better working environment, and a better-running business.

LMS TOOLS & E-PORTFOLIO TOOLS
These last years drove to many mutations of learning in training terms throughout life. The Moroccan universities began changing paradigm of education. This change consists in passing from a purely transmissive teaching paradigm to a learning paradigm where learners become the main actors of learning process and acquiring new skills and knowledge. Most of learning tools have adapted to this paradigm.
Among these tools, there are the learning management system (LMS) and the electronic portfolio (ePortfolio). Our work focuses on monitoring and periodic evaluation of the formation of a student in higher education, particularly, the skills acquired by the student during his university education. Also we will show you other uses of the e-portfolio. From this perspective we suggest a computer device “ISIFePortfolio” which not only allows monitoring of learners, but also acts as an ePortfolio (electronic portfolio) assessment skills, and a social network combined systems.

Based on the Mahara technology, “ISIFePortfolio” is an application set up by the team ORDIPU University Hassan II Mohammedia - Casablanca. It has been integrated into the platform of distance education “Education Master ISIF” for the master “Engineering Information Systems and Training”.

CRITICAL THINKING TOOLS

Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally, understanding the logical connection between ideas.
Rather than simply accepting ideas and assumptions, critical thinkers rigorously question an hypotheses, seeking to determine whether the findings represent fact or opinion.

Developed in association with The University of Cambridge, Macat has defined critical thinking in six interlocking skills, called PACIER skills:

Problem-solving: developing a strategy and creating workable solutions.

Analysis: breaking arguments down into bite-sized chunks.

Creative thinking: finding new and often unexpected solutions to all sorts of problems.

Interpretation: decoding the meaning and significance of evidence or experiences.

Evaluation : weighing the strengths and weaknesses of an argument (including those of others) and dealing fairly with disagreements.

Reasoning: the production of compelling and persuasive arguments.

The important thing to note is that critical thinking isn’t about “being critical”; it’s about much more than just finding flaws in other people’s claims.

SURVEY TOOLS / ASSESSMENT TOOLS

An assessment is making a judgment about a person or a situation, based on all the information surrounding that subject. Practically speaking, this usually done by a series of questions with a score or categorization that return some type of result.

This is a very general definition. Based on context, a differentiation can be made for what purpose they are used (think: human resources, recruitment, marketing, education, finance).

An assessment tool is the software that helps you set up such an assessment and analyze the results.
  • The term “assessment tool” is often used to describe the assessment methodology. A methodology is a way of assessing the subject based on a specific theory or framework.
  • A well-known assessment methodology in personality testing is the Myers-Briggs type indicator where an assessment will assign one of 16 existing personality types or stereotypes to the respondent. The personality types are based on extraversion versus introversion, sensing versus intuition, thinking versus feeling and judgment versus perception.
  • Another widely-used methodology is the DISC assessment. It’s a personality test which states that each person scores on 4 personality styles: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. Based on their score, a respondent gets assigned one of the 4 personality types which are often associated with the colors red, blue, green and yellow.
  • An assessment tool can also be seen as the means that are used to execute the assessment either digitally or with pen and paper. The latter can be simple and are often used in educational settings. Yes/No cards, Thumbs up/down, Mind mapping are all examples of formative assessment tools.
In this article, we will focus on the digital assessment tools (= assessment software), more specifically on how you should select digital assessment tools depending on your specific needs.
